Bourbon Balls

It’s that time of the year for holiday parties, and so my focus is changing toward cookie trays and treats. In fact, I was considering doing a little series here next week, a Cookie Week similar to the Pie Week I did for Thanksgiving last year with a different cookie each day, Monday through Friday. If you’re interested, let me know in the comments! Now, as you can see, today I have a recipe for bourbon balls. I adapted my recipe for last year’s Kahlua balls to make these slightly more boozy treats – these are a little stronger, and you can definitely taste the bourbon all the way down, so I wouldn’t recommend letting kids get ahold of these! They’re quite delightful with a mug of hot cocoa or eggnog though, and make a quick and easy addition to any goodie tray. Enjoy!
In a large bowl, whisk together the crushed crackers or cookies and powdered sugar.
Stir in the vanilla extract, agave, bourbon, and chocolate until the dough comes together.
Shape the dough into 1″ balls. Roll them each in the granulated sugar.
Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 2-3 days to develop the flavor. Makes 20-25 balls.
