Keurig Hot Apple Cider, Fair Trade Coffee, Barista Prima Coffee, and a Giveaway

Continuing with my love for the Keurig brewing system, there are three types of k-cup portion packs I want to share with you today – hot apple cider, fair trade coffee, and Barista Prima coffee. I have to admit that when I received a sample of the hot apple cider k-cup portion packs in the mail, I was extremely skeptical…I was sure they would taste more like apple-flavored tea than cider. However, I’m happy to report that that wasn’t the case! In fact, I even performed a little taste test and put a mug of hot apple cider brewed by my Keurig up against a mug of hot apple cider I purchased from a local farmer’s market, and I was surprised that I didn’t notice much difference between the two. I distinguished the Keurig version from the farmer’s market version mainly because of the cinnamon I could taste in it, and being a lover of fall spices, I actually preferred it. I’ve definitely been won over as a fan!

I think my favorite of the three samples though were the fair trade coffees. Supporting both farmers receiving a guaranteed fair price for their labor as well as sustainable farming practices is important to me as a coffee lover, so anything labeled as fair trade is a win in my book. I didn’t try a coffee that I didn’t like…and not only that, but a lot of my seasonal favorites are labeled as fair trade – including my all-time favorite, pumpkin spice. Two of the new holiday flavors that are available right now, spicy eggnog and gingerbread, are also fair trade certified. They’re both perfect for Christmas, and I’m looking forward to trying them!

Last but not least, the Barista Prima coffee. Sampling this coffee was such a fun experience, because Green Mountain Coffee hosted a live virtual coffee tasting via Facebook with Francesco Sanapo. It was interesting to learn how to really taste coffee, and I encourage you to watch the video if you missed the live presentation and follow along. my favorite way to enjoy coffee…well, I’ve been enjoying your pumpkin spice syrup recipe in my coffee and also, I’ve made a gingerbread syrup as well. Sometimes I make a latte, other times I put it in my regular coffee. I don’t own a keurig but, I would gift these for sure! My dad has one and a few friends do, too!

I LOVE my Keurig, have only had it 2 weeks. Our kids love it too, if you have not tried the Swiss Miss hot chocolate, do so, they are yummy. As for my coffee, I like mine over ice the best with lots of amaretto.

I’m not a coffee-drinker (I’m more of a tea gal), but my husband loves it. I really enjoy the coffee aroma, so my favorite way to enjoy coffee is to wrap my cold hands around my husband’s mug and just inhale. He would love this sampler.

My grandma got a Keurig for Christmas last year and she enjoys it so much and every time I go to her house she makes me a cup of something delicious in it. I like it so much that I’m hoping there is one for me under my tree this year even if I have to buy it myself, lol

We LOVE this apple cider!! My boyfriend bought it because I don’t like coffee and I’ve been enjoying it a lot. I find it to be a little more like hot apple juice than cider, but it’s great. I wouldn’t brew it on the largest setting though – it’s best on the middle one. I love your glass mug!

I like to make homemade pumpkin spice lattes! Just heat some milk or cream then stir in a bit of pumpkin, add to the brewed coffee along with cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves!

Pumpkin Spice from Green Mountain is my favorite seasonal flavor. Fall begins when I grab my first cup from my favorite vendor at the Fryeburg Fair.

Haven’t tried the apple cider yet, but have heard great things about it.

I normally drink mine with sugar and milk or creamer. Although I use stevia sometimes as well.

I absolutely LOVE my Keurig!! I enjoy my coffee every morning with stevia (and I have a giveaway going on right now for stevia packets & liquid vanilla stevia!) and fat free half and half creamer. I often fix lattes and other yummy coffee drinks in the afternoons as well. I’ve been experimenting w/lots of different flavors!

I like my coffee to be strong so I always add a tsp. of instant espresso, 2 tsps. raw sugar and normally I would add a splash of skim milk but lately I’ve been putting in eggnog instead….its sooo good!!! I don’t have a Keurig but I love my friend’s.
