As you can see, we still have a lot of food left! Although I probably could have done a better job using more of it, I’m happy to see that living on $100 for the month doesn’t mean that you end up clearing out your entire stock, only to have to spend a ton of money replenishing it again when you’re done. Even though we spent $103.59 instead of $100, compared to our usual monthly grocery bill I still consider our pantry raiding adventure a success. I’d like to thank Susan again for being such a great host, all my fellow penny pinchers for their encouragement, and of course my hubby for being a good sport and playing along!

What a great job with the challenge! In the end, I think the experience was more about learning about my cooking/shopping habits than about the total amount I spent at the end of the month. I, too, was amazed that I didn’t totally clean out my pantry/fridge/freezer while sticking to my budget.

You did AWESOME! I too can’t believe how much stuff we have left! Maybe we didn’t challenge ourselves enough? Maybe we should do one week of NO money? Only eating what we have? Honestly, I think both you and I could do that with no issue. How are we ever going to clean out those pantries? :)

Thanks so much for joining me this month. i appreciate you doing it, and maybe you’ll cohost again in September? (Hint, Hint)

Maria – Thanks! I agree; it was a lot of fun, and totally worth it!

Jen – I totally agree. I don’t know what to do with all this extra stuff now, haha!

Susan – Thanks, and thanks for being such a great hostess! I have no idea how I’m going to clean out all the stuff left in our pantry. Keep me updated if you do another one in September! ;-)
