Tuxedo truffles

Tuxedo truffles - 1

The fiancé of my friend who I made the wedding shower cake for is having his bachelor party tomorrow.  I was told that one of his favorite foods are my Oreo truffles, so I promised him I would make some for the party.  The ones I usually make look something like this:

Oreo truffles

However, I just couldn’t resist getting a little more creative than that.  So, this is what I came up with!

Tuxedo truffles - 2

I’ll be sending them along with my hubby for the party tomorrow. Here is the recipe for the original Oreo truffles!  Give them a try; you won’t be sorry (but your diet might).

Servings: 25-30

Put each whole package of cookies into a food processor and mix until cookies become fine crumbs.  In a medium-sized bowl, add crumbs to softened cream cheese and mix well.
Line a cookie sheet with wax paper and roll dough into small balls.  Line all the balls on the cookie sheet and chill in the freezer for about 20 minutes, or overnight in the refrigerator.
Melt the dark chocolate in a medium-sized bowl in the microwave following package directions. Dip chilled balls into melted chocolate.  Return to wax paper and let harden.  Serve, or store in an airtight container in the refrigerator.  Drizzle colored chocolate on top for a fancy look.
